I’m so glad that I gave Barre & Hot Shop a try! The staff and instructors are super friendly, approachable, and accommodating.

I also want to give a shout out to Breanne, who is such a sweet instructor! Classes are challenging but she keeps it so fun with her great energy, and I appreciate that she always provides modifications for those who are just starting, have injuries, or other issues.

We tried one of their most popular classes; Hot Hips at the Victoria Park location, which is the only studio that keeps things strictly focused on the hot stuff. The class was juicy, fluid and, of-course, sweaty as hell and we left feeling particularly elated after spending an hour getting into the nitty gritty of our hip joints. Well priced, cute and bright studio, and instructors are awesome.

Today, my wife and I had a subpar experience with HotShop. We were trying out the studio for our first time and were very excited. We even checked their FAQs on Instagram to make sure we were prepared.

Upon arrival, they asked if we had our grip socks. Having done barre classes before, I have never had to wear grip socks. However, this is mandatory to participate. They said we could buy a pair from them. The only ones available in my size were a 2 pack for $55 and my parter would have had to buy her own for $25.

We ended up leaving and not participating in the class because of this. Considering we did our due diligence this was very disappointing. We would have hoped our first time experience could have been better.
