My confidence in this doctor is as shaky as his injections. A skin biopsy was needed to rule out a secondary cancer after chemotherapy for Lymphoma was completed 5 years ago... The doctor was more concerned about my child's pimples than any of the concerning moles I asked him to look at. He then said he'll wait for the results before looking at the next mole... Ummm. This is very concerning and actually rude for a skin doctor to dismiss true anxiety from a mom for her teenage son that has already had cancer and chemotherapy!!!
The doctor was also extremely short with me when my phone (in my purse) calendar went 'bing' for an appointment we might have been on time for if we weren't in the moldy waiting room for 45 minutes past our scheduled appointment.
Sanitation is questionable, as he put on sterile gloves to take a biopsy but then forgot things in another room so came and went twice opening and closing the door and a cabinet with the gloves on, he quickly swapped them out for 'out of the box' gloves (which isn't best practice).
The office looks like it's an auction house in the evenings, or perhaps his half of the home items.
Strange, and not in a good way.

If I could rate no stars, I would. I had my first two appointments scheduled in Feb and March bumped to today only to show up at the clinic with a sign saying they are closed. No call advising of this. Took the morning off work and drove all the way to Fort and Oak Bay for nothing. What makes matters worse is that my health issue/skin concern has been neglected. When I called my family doctor after the second time of getting my appointment bumped, he told me there are no other dermatologists available in Victoria, but booked me in with a family Doctor who specializes in skin. I realized I needed to take action and have an appointment next month with the other Dr.

ANYBODY who has an appointment with Dr. Hancock should definitely consider looking elsewhere as soon as possible. Dr. Hancock and office staff, if Dr isn’t able to practice anymore, please consider not taking on any more appointments or scheduling and just shut the clinic down permanently. This is absolutely a joke and another example of our healthcare system failing. I’m not coming here for a cosmetic consultation, I’m coming here for a health concern. Not impressed.

If you’ve had a similar experience, I encourage you to file a complaint with the College of Physicians and Surgeons so they have a record. Patients deserve better.

Extremely disappointing and unsafe experience. I started Accutane treatment with Dr. Hancock in January — a medication that requires close monitoring due to serious side effects. He was 40 minutes late to my first appointment (receptionist said he was “still at lunch”), and I only had one follow-up to review bloodwork and report side effects.

My next follow-up in March was cancelled *an hour* before the appointment, and I was told I couldn’t rebook until May because he was going on holidays. I was also told the office would fax a refill to my pharmacy — they never did, and I had to go through telehealth to get a lieu prescription from another doctor.

When I showed up for my rescheduled May appointment, the clinic was CLOSED with just a handwritten note on the door. No one has contacted me since, and I’m seeing other patients reporting similar issues in their reviews.

This kind of neglect is dangerous — especially for people on medications that require regular bloodwork and check-ins.

What's weird is that I was called on Saturday by this clinic offering me an appointment for the following Tuesday (three days later) and the office was closed when I arrived for my appointment.

When I asked a neighbouring business for a pen to write a note to slide under the door informing them of my attendance, they reported to me that the police were investigating this clinic two weeks ago in mid-April. They were asking questions to their neighbours to see if anyone knew the doctor well and if they could provide further information.

All to say, I've been trying to see a dermatologist as of 2021, and have yet to see one in person. I waited many months for this referral and am very disheartened. I'm starting to believe the position doesn't exist.

What I would recommend to others echoing a similar experience to me is to call your practitioner who referred you to this doctor. Report your experience, inform them that they are habitually no-showing no-calling patients, and tell them to stop referring residents to this individual.

Three times I was rescheduled, okay, not a problem. The last appointment was my final straw when I didn't receive Dr. Hancock's call. I have been waiting for some pathology results.
It's very unprofessional and an inconvenience.
