Great experience top to bottom. From my first consultation appointment to my 3 months follow-up (post blepharoplasty surgery in my left eye) dr baker and his staff were great. I’m thrilled with my results, my eyes are the same size for the first time in my life!

I was referred to Dr Baker due to a very quick decline in the vision in my right eye due to cataracts. It was determined that I was effectively blind in my right eye and would need lens replacement surgery. I was terrified, I have PTSD and could not imagine being awake for the surgery! Dr Baker was so understanding and reassured me that his team was awesome and that I wouldn't feel a thing. I didn't believe him but I decided that I would place my trust in him. From the moment I was called into the clinic (inside the hospital) I was attended to by the most awesome nurse named Delores, who didn't leave my side for a second! I wasn't anxious at all and the surgery itself was painless (as promised)..... sorry for not believing you Dr. Baker!! I am ecstatic to report that my vision 24 hours later was deemed 3 points off 20/20!! Amazing! I can't express my gratitude for Dr. Baker and his absolutely amazing team! I'm having my left eye done next month and I honestly can't wait. I expected to recover a portion of my vision but this is absolutely unbelievable! A very special thank-you to the amazing Delores and of course the most talented Dr. Baker!

Dr. Baker and staff performed a miracle - cataracts out, new lens's in. So great to be able to see again! I recovered a full range of vision - distance, mid and near. Although I still use readers for serious reading I'm able to read just fine for things such as menus, labels, signage, sub titles, my phone, etc. I was impressed with the competence of everyone involved - the office staff, the technicians, the staff at Royal Jubilee and Dr. Baker. I appreciated his very careful and thoroughly professional approach throughout the process of assessing my eyes and making the best choice of lens. He takes the time to get it right. A big thank you to all!

I went to see Dr. Baker because I was told he is the best ophthalmologist in Victoria and I'm glad I did. My case was very unusual. Due to years of bad eczema over my left eye, the eyelid skin had become loose and eventually weakened the muscle that allows your eyelid to create a clear fold. Having uneven sized eyelids might seem minor but it made me pretty self conscious (and was even more obvious when wearing makeup), so I decided to go for the surgery after several consultations with Dr. Baker. He did a great job of setting very realistic expectations with me about possible different outcomes. You really don't want someone overpromising and under-delivering in this situation, so I really appreciated his honesty and knowledge he shared with me about the complexities of a minor operation like this.

I've attached a photo which shows the differences before and after the operation. There were two situations before - the eyelid would either be much thicker than the other and look very uneven (top photo - note: eyes are dilated because I just came from an eye exam) or it would struggle to fold at all and I would end up with 2-3 folds at the same time (middle photo). After my surgery, now my eyelids basically look identical! (bottom photo). I couldn't be happier with the results as they far exceeded my expectations.

I was also nervous about the surgery but it was so quick and easy (maybe 45 minutes?), and everyone was very professional and made me feel very comfortable. The healing process also wasn't nearly as bad as I had imagined it would be. The incision healed in about a week and then I let the eyelid rest for about another 2 months just to be on the safe side.

Overall, a great experience and I am so glad I spent the money to have this done!

I was referred to Dr. Baker for cataract surgery. I’m 51 and has questions as my cataracts were worsening and I was still waiting for an appointment.
I was really disappointed when I called the office angot the “don’t call us, talk to your referring source”. It’s 2023, client centred practice should be standard.
If I’m referred, I should be contacted directly as the patient and not discouraged from calling for information.
I got a referral to another ophthalmologist and they phoned me the next day.
Surgery booked for this month.

I got a call last month (2months after referral) for an appointment with Dr. Baker, but too late.

Definitely disappointed in this experience.
