I've been going to Calgary Movement Studio for the last seven months. I do 5-7 classes a week, a mix of the strength training with Marc (where does he find these exercises?!) and 'test your mettle' classes for hips and shoulders with Curtis. If I have a chance to fit more in, I'll do one with Damien or Bryan who challenge us in different ways (shout out to Bryan for getting my toes moving - who knew they needed to?). All the instructors are superbly educated, highly invested in the process of making themselves and their clients better and excellent at individualizing training. We regularly have people who are in their 20's and competing at a high athletic level all the way to 70's and even one regular who is 80. No two classes are the same with an amazing array of inventive approaches but the result is the same - I'm stiff in places I haven't been for years! With just a few simple tools, the trainers make class challenging for each person and as they've gotten to know my limitations and capacities, they challenge me with different variations. I came in with a goal to do a chin-up and five months in I accomplished that. I feel more bullet proof than I ever have - ready for the hiking and cycling season. Thanks Damien, Bryan, Curtis and Marc - I have learnt so much from you all.

My name is Billy Petrie, I am 43 years old, I have an honors pre-medical bachelor of science, I’m a certified personal trainer, at time of writing I have a bench press north of 300 pounds and a dead lift north of 500 with a sub 12% body fat…..and i am NEVER sick at sea.

The only thing prohibiting myself from believing Im an expert in fitness, is the fact that I’ve trained with Curtis Howden for many years.

Curtis rehabilitated a very traumatic humoral avulsion fracture on my shoulder 10 years ago. He’s fixed my lower back pain, he's even gotten rid of pesky planters fasciitis….when several other accredited professionals were unable to.

I enjoy working with Curtis as I try to absorb everything I can!

When I have an issue on myself that I can’t fix - I go to Curtis. When I have friends and family members with joint issues or mobility issues - I send them to Curtis.

He’s the best at what he does in my highly experienced opinion.

The man eats T-bone steaks, he lifts barbell plates, hes the reflection of perfection he deserves all the attention!

After over a decade of working with Curtis in the capacity as client, student, and now friend, it is an honor and a privilege to work with him and recommend him to those closest to me.

I've been taking Curtis' classes for a couple of years now and my joints feel bomb proof. It hasn't really been about gaining more flexibility, but about finding control and awareness... that has been the game-changer for me. 5 stars. Highly recommend!
