I've been a member at Barracks Fitness for a while now, and I can't recommend it highly enough. The owners, Eric and Christi, alongside their team of instructors, are truly awesome. They bring a level of energy and dedication that's infectious and makes every workout session enjoyable. What sets this gym apart is its incredibly welcoming atmosphere. From the moment you step in, you're greeted with warmth and friendliness (hi Alison), not just from the staff but also from fellow gym-goers. It's a place where everyone is encouraged to be their best self, regardless of their fitness level. My family has been part of the Barracks fitness community for years. Even our kiddos! Their workouts, coaches, and philosophy—that fitness should be fun and for everyone—make this place the best. The workouts are truly for everyone, with many scaled options. I appreciate the workout-specific warm-ups that help with mobility and injury prevention. But what really makes this place shine are the awesome friends who work out together.

I have been attending Barracks Fitness for 5 years. I have attended an average of 3 classes per week over that time. This is the first fitness commitment I’ve stuck to in 30 years of trying various other fitness starts and stops. The coaching is excellent, the programming is top notch, I show up, do what I’m told and day by day, month by month, year by year I continue to get great results and improve. I believe the instruction we receive promotes safety, technical competence and mastery of technique above all else. Beyond this, the community of members is incredibly supportive, welcoming and motivating regardless of age, skill or fitness level. All in all, joining Barracks Fitness is one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself. I feel better at 50+ than I did at 35.

I’m in the best shape of my life and I owe it all to Barracks Fitness. The community is filled with positive like-minded people helping one another become their best self. The layout is fantastic and they offer a huge variety of equipment and weights. The coaches are experienced and knowledgeable with instructing classes at a group or individual level. CrossFit has taught me how to have a healthy relationship with food and love myself no matter what size I am. Barracks Fitness is life changing and the best investment you’ll ever make.

Being new to Calgary, my husband and I were looking for a new gym to work out at, but with Barracks we ended up finding so much more than that. Not only is it a place to exercise, but it is also a community of awesome, likeminded and fun individuals. The coaching and programming is top notch. I’ve progressed in all of my skill and lifts since starting here. I also love all of the fun events and friendly competitions that they hold. At the end of December I sprained my ankle and I have still been able to come in and work out with appropriate modifications thanks to their highly knowledgeable coaches. It really is a gym for all levels and abilities. Highly recommend that you check them out, you won’t regret it!
