My sister and I had a great and relaxing experience! It was our first time here so it was nice that the staff were kind. Communication through the phone was clear and easy when making an appointment, and they were able to take us in for a last minute acrylic set. The whole process was calming, they made sure that our nails were to our liking by checking in on what we thought of them every now and then. We loved our set so we definitely recommend this place!!

Update: I got a new set, and I find that this is the only place that takes their time while doing my nails. They make sure to not skip any steps such as cleaning up the nail to make them look neat.

Went to get my nails done for camp and I was not expecting them to be this amazing! Please go to Tianna she did an awesome job with matching my reference photo, and she made me feel like a princess! The service here is great. I will be coming back for sure!

Everyone was super nice, professional, and amazing at what they do. I could tell that the manager is a perfectionist and will do a great job considering I was still there past closing hours and she didn’t rush to finish. The place was clean. also they have a great selection of cat eye colours which I’m obsessed with at the moment.

My cousin (a nail tech of 10 years) recommended that I see Yumi at Unique Nails & Spa. So happy I checked them out for a fill! Yumi did thorough prep work and ensured that I was happy with the shape and length of my nails. Tianna did amazing work with the reference photo I had. Tianna accommodated every request I had for the nail art. I’m very pleased with the final results – Yumi and Tianna are so talented. Five stars all around. Definitely recommend seeing both Yumi and Tianna! Thank you!!!

My partner and I went to get our nails done and it was nice that they took us right away, especially because it was already later in the evening. BUT I got acrylic nails for the first time and did NOT have a good experience at all. They took an hour and half to leave my fingers throbbing and my cuticles bleeding (not even exaggerating). To make matters worse, it was the manager who did them (well, took over when the nice, gentle woman was shooed out of her spot). The manager was rough, rude and had an odd overuse of the nail drill (hence cutting my skin open on half my fingers). She continued to work as my fingers bled and didn’t even apologize once. They were reluctant to give me a discount and I eventually got 5% off (TRASH)! The male who works there was so kind when we first arrived, but changed his whole demeanour and attitude when he could see I was uncomfortable and then complaining. I asked him for the discount and at first he said no. Then I asked to talk to the manager and that’s how I discovered the lady working on my nails WAS the manager. Unreal.
Weeks later (I was not comfortable going to a salon again for a while), I went to get them off and let my nails heal and I went to Selkirk Nails and they were absolutely AMAZING - and they even asked me where I got my nails done previously. They had a really hard time getting my overly thick nails off and couldn’t even get all of them completely removed because of how insane they were done. I will not be back and would not recommend Unique nails, unless you want a uniquely terrible experience. Selkirk Nails on the other hand ? well done.
