Strut & The Other Side

Not only did I love my hair cut from Jonna and no longer struggle every day to detangle my hair/battle dry damaged ends, but the products used are cruelty free, vegan and Canadian! And even better, they make as much of an effort as they can to reduce waste, reuse what they can, and recycle things that most salons wouldn't bother doing. I am very impressed and love that I finally have a salon to go to that understands my values as a waste reducing vegan myself! Highly recommend!

I had the pleasure of booking in with Amanda this evening. I am so happy with my piercings! I originally booked in for my nose and walked out with both my nose and navel. Best decision! Amanda made things super comfortable from the very start. She has a very down to earth nature. I will Absolutely book with her again. I am so happy i found her.

Incredible work done by Caroline to bring my hair to a solid, gorgeous black. I went in desiring a jet black, she made some adjustments to the colour to give it some more depth, and I honestly couldn't be happier. The rest of the staff seemed very friendly as well, and were very accommodating.

I visited Strut Hair and Art for the first time at the end of June and left feeling super impressed and couldn’t wait to tell everyone about them! They use fully vegan and cruelty free products which is what first peaked my interest to try them out.

I had my haircut and first facial piercing (nose) done by Jonna. She was very friendly, professional and let me charge my phone as it was about to die. Offered me water and made sure I was comfortable. She walked me through the process before she did my nose piercing, explained different gauges and how to clean it. She sent me home with written instructions on how to keep it clean.

I’ve never felt as great as I did after a haircut as I did with Jonna! My hair used to be so long, heavy and boring. Now it still has length but it feels so much lighter, freer and I can finally wear it down again. I used to need to tie it back all the time in a braid or bun.

They kept everything clean and wore the proper mask(s) and aprons for Covid.

Worst haircut of my life. I asked for a one length shoulder skimming blunt Bob, so elementary I could have done it myself, and she hacked my hair up with some sections only 3 inches long on one side and 5 inches on the other, 6 inches up front, and to my chin. It puffs up and falls flat in the weirdest way. It’s longer on one side than the other, my daughter said I look like Elastigirl. I’m absolutely devastated. Feel like putting a bag over my head. It’s been 2 weeks and I can’t do a thing with it. Told the owner and she said “oh, I can see what she was going for, come in and I’ll blend it some more”. No Thanks!! Why would I want MORE layers?! It’s going to take 6 months to a year to outgrow this shredded hair. I cancel plans, have to wear a hat to work because I can’t pull it back. It’s so embarrassing and I’ve never cried so much over a haircut.

*in response- it looks nothing, absolutely nothing like the reference photo I showed you. I have had a bob several times in my life and loved it. It is not shock from losing 12” of length, I’ve done that many times before. It is SHREDDED, that is my issue. Uneven layers everywhere when I asked for none. I said she could air out the very bottom, but she put uneven layer’s everywhere. I’ve never had a Bob look like a triangle. But that would even be more tolerable then this.
