I am so grateful that Son of the Pharaoh managed to stay open through COVID. I grew up going to the Eau Claire location. So I was over the moon to find out that once it closed, an even BIGGER location opened. I live in Van now but ALWAYS make a point of going to SOTP. Calgary just wouldn’t be Calgary without it. The decades of passion this family owned business puts into their stock, care and appreciation of their customers is bar none. I can not recommend them enough. And so long as I am able to travel, I’ll always come back.

I absolutely love this store! It’s one of my favourite local spots, and I find myself coming back often. The variety of unique items they offer is amazing—I’ve purchased many things from here, and everything has been of excellent quality.

What truly sets this place apart, though, are the owners. They are incredibly warm, friendly, and genuinely passionate about what they do. Every visit feels personal and inviting, thanks to their hospitality. They take the time to connect with their customers, making the whole experience special.

If you’re looking for a unique shopping experience with a personal touch, I can’t recommend this store enough. It’s a gem in our community!

Fantastic store we have been visiting for almost 20 years anytime we are in Calgary. The prices are fair and the merchandise is vastly diverse with a spectrum of value. Something for any budget, pop by and you won't be disappointed.

The owners also run tours to Egypt, so keep your eyes open in August.

My partner and ai have been shopping here openly as a queer couple and I would qualify the space as safe for us!

Great store for authentic Egyptian things, the owner and staff are very knowledgeable. Their jewelry selection is vast and has many beautiful pieces no matter what your tastes may be.

OMG! I actually hate to share this review because I want all the jewellery to myself! The quality, variety and prices are so rare to find nowadays. I brought my daughter with me for a follow up and she tried to break my bank with the items she picked out. Regardless your taste, they got it! I was so excited and overwhelmed I forgot to get a matching pendant. Guess who's going back again? Very happily BTW. The staff is epic too! Hard to find friendly and knowledgeable help, yet this store has it. Can't wait to see what I come out with next!
