I had the pleasure of working with Rola during my wedding week. We did a total of 4 looks for the week and each look was beyond stunning. I was so pleased with how Rola made each look unique and different, really working with my facial features - a true artist to her craft-Rola knows exactly what she’s doing. Not to mention, Rola is the sweetest human and you know she has a passion for makeup it’s not solely a business to her. Every small detail was accounted for in every look and lasted all night long through dancing and all! I usually opt for doing my own makeup for events but I can say Rola is the only makeup artist I would trust with executing any look that I would want with the kind of accuracy I appreciate.

I also went to Nadine for eyebrow threading before my wedding week and she is the absolute sweetest person - listens to exactly what you want and takes you through the service step by step to make sure you are satisfied. So happy with how my eyebrows turned out. Maison Blu definitely has the dream team.

We booked the team at Maison Blu for my cousin’s wedding in YYC this past weekend and the client service and overall experience were truly 5 star! Having followed Rola for years on social media, we were excited to finally have her do our makeup (we’re based in YEG) and she and the entire team didn’t disappoint. We got so many compliments on our hair and makeup!!

What stood out the most, though, was how friendly the staff was - to my mother, my sister, my cousin and me. You could just tell everyone enjoys working together and likes each other. I haven’t always had that experience at other salons or studios. I’ve sat in chairs where the conversation felt forced or the overall vibe was just off. That wasn’t the case here! I would recommend Rola and her team - Rasha, Rania, Layelle - whether you’re visiting from Edmonton or live in Calgary.

Ps. Rania did my mom’s makeup and it was the best application I’ve ever seen her! She has mature skin and Rania made her look and feel absolutely beautiful!!

My experience with Rola on my wedding day was nothing short of incredible! I received so many compliments on my makeup throughout the day — it truly exceeded my expectations. I had originally scheduled a touch-up because I was worried the makeup might not hold up, but it stayed flawless from start to finish and didn’t need any touch-ups at all.

Rola was so warm and welcoming. She even stayed afterward to help me into my dress, which meant so much. She treated both me and my family with such kindness, care, and respect.

Being from out of town, I was unsure about who to trust for such an important day, but I’m beyond grateful I chose her. My biggest fear was ending up with cakey makeup or not looking like myself — but Rola absolutely delivered. I felt like the best version of myself and beautiful on my special day.

Before I found Layelle, I had my hair done by a new hairstylist (not any associates from Maison blu) and she completely fried my hair. got it done at Maison blu and had Layelle do my hair. She immediately knew what to do and managed to make a 360 change. My hair finally looked the way I wanted it to be. I put all my trust in Layelle and she never disappoints! gotten multiple hair trims, and dyes, and now I just let the master do what she wants and it always comes out perfect every time. She explains how to take care of your hair even when it is in its worst state. Absolutely enjoyed her company, always has that glow that makes you feel comfortable right away. 10/10 would recommend it! pictures are from my last appointments, extremely happy with the outcome.

I reached out to Rola excited to book her as my mua for my engagement party. She never told me about the bridal packages available, and she booked me in and told me the rates and I went ahead to book her. This process was all through text and highly unprofessional.

On the day of, when I entered she didn’t speak to me once and continued to gossip with her staff for the entire time I was getting my hair and makeup done. My sister and I were together, and we were extremely shocked by the unprofessionalism. When it came time to pay, I needed help with my dupatta and she rudely spoke to me and told me that I should have booked her bridal package, something I wasn’t aware of, nor did she mention. I would have been more than happy to book the bridal package if I was ever informed of it?

Not to mention, it was my big day, and she made it all about herself and the gossip with her office staff. She then charged me extra, and treated me and my sister very poorly. Looking back, the hair and makeup I requested was not even moderately close to what Rola and her staff provided. My hair fell flat 1 hour into the party, my eyebrows weren’t dark enough for the makeup she did, and my eyelashes didn’t suit my eye shape.

I’m posting this as an honest review for future brides looking to get their hair and makeup done. Your mua plays an important part in your big day. I’ve attached images for reference.
