We have been using Fan for over 25 years, for all sorts of tasks. Her service was outstanding, always! She did what she was asked to do, exactly, within the time she promised, always! She is 100% reliable, does an excellent job, at a very good price. To see some of the one-star ratings among the reviews boggles our mind. I’ve been a customer of Fan ever for almost 1year now. I’ve been coming back ever since for my dress shirt and pants alterations. She gives inputs and suggestions on how to make it look better on your body type and has a meticulous eye on the fitting. Even my wife tried her for a winter coat alteration and she did not disappoint. For your tailoring needs, Hong Hua is a hidden gem that needs to be put out there more!

I went here to get my birthday dress altered as it was too tight on my hip and waist area and my request was to let it out as much as possible. At first she was open to altering it but as soon as I tried the dress on and she saw my body type (full hips, bigger bum and thighs) she became very rude and pessimistic about fixing it and told me no rather than just respecting my request to let it out as much as possible. Mind you, the dress does go on and even zips, it just is tight around the hips. All in all, I felt very body shamed for having a fuller build and I left feeling morbidly obese and dejected. Anyways, go to “Liliana Knitwear Dress Alterations” instead. She was so nice and did not make me feel hopeless about my dress because of my body type. She actually measured me and saw that I needed two more inches added rather than this lady who looked at me and proclaimed I needed four inches randomly without even measuring me. She came up with innovative ways to expand the dress and was shocked that other seamstresses had said no. Hong Hoa said it was not possible to get my dress altered but Liliana gladly took on the project and now I’ll be able to wear my dream dress for my birthday! Do not bother coming here if you do not have a slim figure. To the seamstress, your job is to not judge your customers bodies but rather work with them to make their dream piece fit their bodies. If you do not have to abilities and talent to do so, just admit that rather than telling them it’s not possible. As someone who works so intimately with people’s bodies, you should know better.
