I recently visited Hair Palace Beauty and had an incredible experience! From the moment I walked in, I felt right at home. Every stylist was skilled and professional, making me feel completely confident in their expertise. This is my go-to salon whenever I want to look and feel my best. Thank you, ladies!

Mariama Was wonderful! She made me feel comfortable, the whole salon engaged in conversation with me! Wonderful experience and will definitely be back! Thanks again for making me look absolutely fabulous before vacation!! ?♥️

Yesterday, I got my makeup and hair done, and it was absolutely amazing—just as I had envisioned! I highly recommend everyone to try their services. Sakshi, the owner of the salon, is incredibly talented and treats all clients with great respect, which I found truly appealing.

The most insane & unreal experience at this joke of a ‘business’! I call ahead and ask if I can return a product that the lady had recommended. She immediately begins to give me attitude over the phone, (she has long black braids) I then politely let her know if she continues to treat customers this way, they will not be back. She rudely replies “whatever I’m not gonna argue with you, come get your $16 refund” verbatim. I said ok I’ll be there in a couple minutes, she hangs up half way.
I show up then her manager begins refusing a refund, I said why even bother saying that because
1) you’ve wasted my time driving here
2) you’re deceiving your customers
3) on top of being disrespectful with the tone and choice of words being used.
Her manager then admits that the product must have a manufacturer defect yet she is still refusing to provide a refund and now this falls on the customer. This product was literally water in a bottle! She then recommends another product, in which I read and refused because it is not specific to what I needed. (Which is the reason why I didn’t buy it yesterday). I politely continued to ask the manager questions about the product if it would work for me considering the label was vague YET her recommendation.
She looks at me and aggressively says “ I don’t know, can’t you read it yourself? I actually don’t know anything about this product.” But you’re recommending it? And a manager?
The lady I spoke to on the phone (long black braids) then begins screaming, running, and causing a scene around the store WHILE she was doing a customers hair AND while there are other customers in the facility while the manager is also screaming at us.
She screams “NO REFUNDS NO REFUNDS CANT YOU READ!!” I said, that’s WHY I called and asked if there could be any exception in which she agreed initially.
Meanwhile her manager continues to speak aggressively and refused to provide any type of customer service other than screaming back at us and making extremely unnecessary remarks such as “ok but did she FORCE you to buy this product? DID SHE?” Is this how you speak to customers?
Her manager then offers I can take any other product on the shelves, i explained I had come in for a very specific product and the products in the store weren’t targeted to what I needed! Which is why I called and inquired for the refund! I told them I’ll leave the completely full product I brought in on the counter because I didn’t want it. It costed 18 for water in a bottle!
The lady I spoke to on the phone with the long black braids then starts screaming once again saying “throw out the product and dump it on the floor outside!!! Dump it out!!” At the top of her lungs in front of all us customers (and while she is doing a customers hair).
I came to this store to specifically support a black owned business, (because I love to shop & support black local business) and all the black owned supply stores I go to in Toronto are absolutely amazing and all offer returns/exchanges and great customer service). But with the way yall acted it really made me regret this one.
I also explained that any other beauty supply store does indeed offer returns/exchanges as I know this growing up in edmonton and owning a health/beauty business as well. The manager replies “well that’s a big company, go there then! I’m a small business! It costs me money to refund!” As a fellow small business owner, it will cost you more money disrespecting & losing your customers than a $2 refund charge ever will. Learn how to run a proper and successful business and that will begin with learning how to control your mouth when you speak to the people supporting your business. You’re shooting yourself in the foot when you begin disrespecting your customers because they are willing to give you their hard earned money.
We went to another beauty supply store and told them about this experience and they said it wasn’t the first they’ve heard them and they have a terrible reputation! Do yourself a favor and choose ANY other supply store other than this one.

If you want quality products I would recommend going to Marvellous Beauty Supply on Calgary trail. This is a joke of a business and I do not recommend. I bought French curl hair from them after they told me that the specific hair they sold me is the one I should use. Upon arriving at my appointment the hair was defective and kept tangling, I had to leave my hair appointment and go buy new hair. I called them on the day of my appointment in regards to getting a refund but no one answered. I called for the past 3 weeks and no answer. I don’t see the point of having a phone number if the phone is never picked up. After calling 5 times today I finally got a hold of someone and they proceeded to put the manager on the phone and have her gaslight me. The manager proclaimed that if I had issues with the hair I should’ve called so she could give me instructions, keep in mind I’ve been calling for weeks with no answer so clearly “calling for instructions” is just BS. She then proceeded to say that my hair dresser should’ve used water and oil because that’s how the hair needs to be used, keep in mind the new hair I bought form Marvellous Beauty Supply did not need any water or oil, and my hair dresser did in fact try wetting the hair. I explained to her that this was done and that these are instructions you tell someone when they buy a product, she proceeds to say “oh well we assume that the person buying the hair would already know” I let her know that when I came in I was asking what product to buy and was clearly clueless and only bought this hair based on their recommendation so it seems kind of useless to assume that the customer would know. She then proceeds to change her stance and say that the hairdresser should’ve known what to do and that all French curl needs water and oil (not true and none of the times I did French curl did I need to use water and oil). I ask her why she can’t refund it exchange when I have been able to exchange in the past and she says that all hair stores are like this, not true because others do refunds and exchanges. She said the best I could do is come get my hair done with them and she can offer me a discount (I’ve seen their work, it doesn’t look good). It’s one thing to sell faulty products, but why also recommend others to buy it?
