I had an absolutely amazing experience with Fatima at Hair Mix! I went in for both coloring and a haircut, and she nailed both with such skill and care. For the coloring, she took the time to suggest shades that perfectly suited my face and skin tone, and the result was stunning—rich, vibrant color that brought out the best in my features. As for the haircut, she gave me exactly what I wanted, with a style that works beautifully for my hair type and is super easy to maintain.

Fatima has tons of experience working with dark black, coarse hair, and it really shows. She handled my hair with such confidence and expertise, making the whole experience feel effortless and relaxing. On top of that, she’s warm, professional, and truly listens to what you want.

I walked out of the salon feeling like my best self. I can’t recommend Fatima enough—if you’re looking for someone who understands textured hair and delivers amazing results, she’s the one!

Danielle is absolutely amazing. She is super skilled, genuinely listens to what you want, and truly cares that you leave feeling great about your hair. Not to mention she’s hilarious, and I have so much fun in her chair with our conservations. I 100% recommend Danielle to anybody!

I met Lyla three years ago, and honestly, I’ve never looked back. She has the most beautiful energy: warm, genuine, and so easy to trust. I’m super picky with my hair, but with her, it just felt right from the start.

From color to cuts (and even my wedding hair!), she’s absolutely crushed it every single time. She’s crazy talented, it’s like she just knows what works for you. I wouldn’t let anyone else touch my hair. She’s truly one of a kind!

Abe at hair mix in crowfoot is a treasure. I came to him with my hair horror story and he listened to what I felt went wrong with my last haircut and he fixed it. I absolutely love my hair again and I'll definitely go back. And he's easy to talk to and funny. So that's a bonus.

Based on the positive reviews, I went to see Abe about a month ago and thought he was a very nice guy.

My hair is naturally curly and very long. I said I still wanted to keep it long but maybe a few layers.

He held up the ends and suggested about an inch-to an inch and a half. He showed me exactly how much he planned to cut off and I agreed. So then he straightened it, cut it very quickly and I look and he has cut at least 4 inches off. I was in shock….the next day, when I washed my hair, when it was back to my natural curls, I burst into tears because it was so short. I didn’t feel like myself at all.
From shampoo to exiting the salon, it had been 40 minutes. Perhaps, this is standard but compared to my previous experiences, it felt rushed.

I am definitely sad. It will take well over a year to grow it to the length we had agreed upon. One of the main reasons I had chosen Abe was the very reviews and pictures of long haircuts which I told him about when I had arrived.

(The only reason I didn’t go back to my long time stylist is because he moved locations downtown and parking is challenging)

I don’t know what happened but, as an experienced senior stylist, Abe must have realized that he cut off far more than he had said he was going to.

The two sides aren’t completely even.

I’m sure that Abe does a fantastic job for many of his clients but I wasn’t one of them.

What was the point of the consultation portion if he was going to cut it significantly shorter than he had showed me and what I felt comfortable and happy with?

The management’s response was simply to wish I had reached out to them directly. That is a fair statement, but this wasn’t the case of “it’s a bad haircut or a bad colour job.”

They can’t give me extensions. I mean I suppose they could but I don’t want them.

I was also disappointed that Hair Mix made note of the time of day (at 3 AM) when I had written my original review. I don’t really understand why that has anything to do with what I wrote? What Hair Mix doesn’t understand is that I live with a chronic spine condition that keeps me awake many nights because of pain.

I just wanted to clarify since that seem to be something they were upset about .

At the end of the day, reviews give us information and if this review can help somebody else truly clarify how much is going to be cut off within an inch leeway, no big deal but it was significantly more.

I just encourage people to make sure they’re on the same page. I think it’s valid that Abe has given a lot of his customers fantastic cuts.
