Glossy Nails

UPDATE: just wanted to give an update on the below. Glossy Nails followed up immediately after apologetically. They did not overbook, one staff member was running a little late ( life happens!) and the seating order was an oversight. They offered 30% off my next service.

My sister and I have been to Glossy Nails for simple shellac pedicures a few times since they opened in our neighbourhood and have generally been pleased with the service and quality of work. We both agree it is our preferred nail salon. However, my recent experience was unfortunately disappointing. I arrived for my appointment at 10:00 am, the salon's stated opening time.

Only three staff members *appeared* to be present, two of whom were already with clients. Another customer was waiting at a pedicure station at this time. I was greeted and took a seat in the waiting area. Another customer, arriving immediately after me, was seated and setup at a pedicure station. After waiting a few minutes without being given any further acknowledgment or an estimated wait time, I decided to leave.

I’ll admit, I’m typically more understanding and patient, but this is seems to be a recurring issue at several salons I've visited, where there’s multiple people scheduled at the same time, leading to delays, rushed services & stressed staff. So I was less willing to sit through that today.

My read on the overbooking could very well be incorrect, however, I value my time and prefer to patronize businesses that are prepared & respect scheduled appointments. I had only called to schedule yesterday and was told to come in at 10:00am, if that was going to take some juggling, I would have preferred to be turned away. I hope this feedback is helpful in improving scheduling practices. I would consider returning in the future if I felt confident that appointments would be honoured promptly.

I was trying to find the best nail place, it took me a while. Glossy nails is the perfect place to get your nails done, the staff is very friendly, the do incredible nails.

Got my nails done here for the first time. Im impressed how stunning this place is as well as how professional of the staffs.
I asked them to design my nail, i loved how cute the design is. Definitely will come back.

I’m very frustrated that I’ve lost 2 nails, and will now have to pay for full replacements. I’ve never had this happen anywhere else, and this is not the first time that this has happened after going here. I love the girl that does my nails and she’s a fantastic artist, but for how much I paid, I just don’t feel like I’m getting the quality that I deserve. This studio is VERY pricey compared to other places.

My mom and I went for shellac nails at this place and was very disappointed. They painted the nails so messy and it did not look professional at all. I paid $165 for both of us and it was not worth it for a simple nail polish like this. I could have done a better job at home. Not going back.
