I recently attended my first pelvic floor yoga class, and I have to say—it was the best yoga experience I’ve had so far! The instructor, Tamara, created such a welcoming and informative environment. What stood out to me most was how she began the class by sharing science-based insights about our bodies. It really helped me understand the purpose behind each movement and breath.

Tamara’s approach was gentle, thoughtful, and empowering. She introduced breathing and movement techniques that felt both grounding and effective, especially for connecting with and strengthening the pelvic floor. I left the class feeling more aware of my body and truly refreshed.

Highly recommend this class to anyone curious about pelvic floor health or looking for a mindful, well-informed yoga experience!

I had the opportunity to rent the Funkentown space for my book launch in February 2024. What caught my attention the most was Wendy's quick response, flexibility, and understanding. For personal reasons, I had to change the event date twice, and she was always ready to understand and meet my needs. In addition, the space is beautiful, extremely organized, and well-kept. After the launch experience, I felt so welcomed, as if I were in my own home, that I decided to hold meetings for my mindfulness course at Funkentown as well. All of my friends loved the space! I also took a series of yoga classes with Tamara - which was incredible, with a small group and personalized attention. I was also very happy to participate in the space's one-year retreat with Sean and the team, which was very revealing and inspiring for me! I am very grateful to have met the entire Funkentown team. You have been like a second family to me here in Brentwood Bay! I will be eternally grateful for the experiences I had here.

BEAUTIFUL SPACE. Felt so inviting, and a place to just be. I attended a breath work session with the singing bowls, and I have to say WOW. I will not be back Every Sunday I can attend. My body felt so grounded after. My nervous system felt like it also got the biggest hug. I was so relaxed. One of the best breath work sessions I have been to. 10/10

This was a well run class. I found it to be well balanced with instructions for new to yoga students and an extra bit of encouragement for those who felt comfortable in challenging themselves. I would recommend for those who want some abdominal work with an addition of some balancing poses.

My Energy Strategy Session with Sean felt very comfortable and eye-opening. He has such an inviting, grounded presence which makes it easy to open up and explore deeper insights. It’s clear that Sean has done (and continues to do) the ‘work’ on himself which allows him to guide and relate to others in a genuine way. It was a fortunate coincidence that led me to Sean, but it has quickly become clear that it wasn’t random. Whether I’m at the start of my journey or somewhere in the middle, I know his knowledge will continue to be an important part of it.
