When I first came to see Sheena I had multiple issues going on. But above all else were very painful pulls in my shoulder and chest area. I had a double Mastectomy with direct to implant, which in hind sight might have been better to do reconstruction after I had healed from the Mastectomy but alas here we are.
After just one treatment the pulling eased and allowed me to sleep through the night. After the second treatment I was pain free for days! So happy to post this, can't wait for my next appointment!

I began working with Sheena after using many other forms of wellness services that were not having long lasting effects (only a day or two). While she was going through massage school she asked me to be her test subject as she trained. I became the recipient of 14 sessions over the course of 3 months to correct issues in my neck and shoulders primarily.
Sheena quickly determined that I had adhesions that affected my posture, mobility and pain levels.
Over the course of the treatments that started out intensive (every 2-3 days) I began to see positive changes in all 3 areas. I have since become a convert of fascial release and continue to see Sheena on an ongoing basis as I realize I have other areas that need attention.

When I started seeing Sheena I was trying to correct an issue with my right hip. I had pain and tightness some days so bad that I couldn't get out of bed. I was doing chiropractic but it would only alleviate the pain for a day, maybe two. Then I heard about myofascial massage on tiktok and started looking for someone that does it in Calgary, by chance I saw a sign at a red light, took a picture and called. Sheena was super welcoming and I felt comfortable right away.
Her service stood out because it made sense that the body is connected in ways we don't know and that can have all different types of reactions in the body. I believe that traditional medicine only covers the basics and there is a lot more involved with health and wellness than just bloodwork and prescription medications. I was sold on the service after the first session because I felt a relief from this pain that I have not felt ever and it did not come back right away. When it did come back it was nowhere near as painful and I have not had to stay in bed because of the pain since my first session. Since starting sessions with Sheena I have been able to do more physical tasks that I was not capable of doing before, even going up and down the stairs was impossible some days before I started these sessions. My expectations were exceeded because of how fast I noticed a difference, how fast I was getting back to my old self physically and mentally (the pain was draining me mentally before). I have recommended this service to almost everyone I know because it can help so many different issues, it is non-invasive, it works with your body specifically and it actually has helped me so much. It was eye-opening. Even though I have always believed in a more holistic approach to wellness, this has opened my eyes to things I didn't even consider before about my body. I originally sought out MFR to treat the substantial scar tissue I have as a result of an abdominal surgery I had 9 years ago. The scar tissue was a constant issue in my life, often making it difficult for me to properly engage my core when exercising and would radiate pain due to persistent tightness regardless of the stretching I would do. In the past I have used several different massage therapists, physiotherapy, as well as acupuncture to treat my pain. It seemed like no matter how much I would stretch at home, or use at home massage tools I could not find the relief I was seeking. I was suggested MFR by a close friend who suggested that the cause of my pain may be a result of my fascia rather than just my muscles. Luckily for me my friend knew Sheena! I was shocked how immediately I experienced relief from my pain (after the first massage) considering how gentle and non-invasive the massage is. Since seeing Sheena on a regular basis (several months) I have noticed increased flexibility, decreased pain, and greater bodily awareness.
