What a beautiful historical hotel! It is centrally located close to the Winnipeg Union Railway Station and eateries. The hotel offers valet & self parking. The king size room’s mattress and bedding are on par. The bathroom is spacious with nostalgic decor which some may feel they are dated ?but has luxurious towels and L’Occitane toiletries. The historic building offers excellent sound proof which we enjoyed the quietness. The hotel retained many of the original designs- the elevators have the floor indicator above the door, the crystal ballroom, the intricate design of the first floor dining room (Oval Room) and many more. We checked in on Sunday so there is only the Oval Room was open for dining and had a bar. It offers delicious food with unique drinks. Not sure why the hotel is rated as a 3 Star hotel. With its history and preservation of the historic value, it deserves at least a 4 star rating. The staff are friendly and professional and the porters are extremely helpful with luggage. Love and highly recommend this hotel!

We recently held a grad dinner and dance in the Grand Ball Room and it was nothing short of perfect! The food was amazing, the staff was friendly and so efficient, the room itself and extra lobby space was stunning! Planning a large dinner like this, one would expect some sort of hiccup but there were none. Stephanie, the Private Dinning Manager and crew had everything exactly how we wanted it. She made the whole process so easy! Highly recommend the Fort Garry Hotel for any event!

I recently attended a wedding at this hotel, and overall, it was a good experience. The hall was spacious and elegant, and the venue has a luxurious, historic charm that added a special touch to the event. The organization and service were at a good level, and the food was delicious and varied.

However, there are a couple of areas that could use improvement. The restrooms are quite outdated and do not match the elegance of the venue. Additionally, the lighting in the hall was too dim, which slightly affected the ambiance, especially during photo moments.

Overall, it’s a lovely venue, and I hope these aspects are improved to make the experience even better

This used to be my favourite Hotel in the city, I spent every birthday and Christmas here with my family and we always had a great time, I have a passion for photography and always loved to learn and take photos while I was there to share my love for the Hotel, I have shared so many videos, photos and many positive reviews about this place.

This all changed for me when I went there for my latest birthday to take my yearly photos which had now become a tradition, when this lady which I believe was the manager immediately shut down my photos and she was very rude and I was surprised that a employee would treat a long time guest like this.

As well I was going into the oval room for drinks with my sister and since I had my camera we were abruptly told it would be $1000 to take photos any photos this building with a camera, even a small film camera, the person telling us at the oval room I believe was just following what they were told, this is more about the management that has recently taken place.

I am incredibly disappointed by how I was treated at what used to be my favourite hotel. hope that the service gets better, I likely won’t be returning after 6 years of loyalty.

The only thing good about this hotel is that it’s near the Forks and its history the rest of it is just terrible! the rooms are small (no microwave nor fridge) the walls are thin so you can hear everything, the bathroom was dirty with hair in lots of places and just dirt. Do not come here unless you want dirty rooms. Even Airport hotels are nicer
